Re: About SLI&CF
SLI does actually work now on the UD3R with a newer BIOS. The GTX 295 will work on boards that do not support SLI, since its "SLI" is all on the video card itself, so it doesn't matter whether the mainboard can orcannot link two video cards together, since there only is one physical video card.

Re: About SLI&CF
I concur with the other two posters. Until recently, the only way to have SLI like benefits of two GPU's on X58 was to go for the 295. This is still the case on P35, X38, P45 and X48.
Your twin GPU's will work fine. If the X58-UD3 now gives SLI support, and you have two 16x PCIe 2 lanes, ie they don't drop to 8x/8x with two slots used, you can even SLI your 295 with another. This isn't that efficient though, and unless you're running in a monster resolution, or want 16x AA and maxed out detail on 1920z1200 or larger, it's not worth it.
Enjoy your card, it sounds like you have the makings of a killer combo. Remember to over clock the i7 to at least 3.4-3.6GHz if you want to really take advantage of all that GPU horsepower.Coolermaster CM 690 II advance Case
