Yes, you will need at least a XP with SP1 or later on it. If you need some guides on how to slipstream let us know and we can provide you some links.

Or you can also use Nlite, which there is guides on doing just this at the download site.

Good luck, but I do believe this is the issue at hand

Ahh, the dreaded 7B stop error.

Sorry I can't be of advice, but I can't install XP SP3 either with my 3ware raid card. I created a nlite slipstream install with my 3ware drivers slipstreamed into the cd, and Windows XP blue screens with this error.

Very frustrating, as I was hoping to dual boot XP / 7.

If you figure it out, let us know how ... thanks.

Thinking you will need a newer version of XP (or create the slipstreamed version as suggested). XP SP0 does not have support for PCI-E video interface.

You must run Windows Setup again with 2GB of Memory.

My guess it is a driver problem, your XP is old, from what 2002?
So either you install it during Windows installation (I don't know exactly how it's done,) or create yourself SP3 Installation disk as Psycho101 suggested, or find someone that has it and just use your own serial number.
Or you can download Windows 7 RC1 which will function untill June next year I think.

I removed 2gb of ram and now have only 2gb installed, same problem
After review my Xp version is SP0.
In the Bios set up, the HD is listed @ IDE channel 0 Master

    Any Suggestions?

    Thanks

If that's the issue tyou're experiencing, you can create an XP install CD that has your choice of service pack integrated into it (Slipstreamed). This envolves applying the service pcak to the setup files, which will then give a complete SP2/3 install when run.

Instructions on how are here: Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Create Bootable CD - HelpWithWindows.com

Note that making a copy of your install CD is perfectly legal. The thing you've bought from Microsoft is the right to use the Product Key, nothing more. OFC hang on to your original CD and your COA, but using the slipstreamed disc is fine. I say this because I've had loads of people who don't understand this accuse me of piracy. Not so much on the net, but IRL.

Thats a good point artdrivers. Even vista before sp1 be it 64bit or what not didnt like 4+gb of ram during install.

RichUD3L Windows XP SP1 will not install with 4GB of memory you must install it with 2GB and after running windows update in Windows to SP3 you then can reinstall the other 2GB. You may want to download and install your motherboard updated drivers from here----> http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...t=xp#anchor_os

You haven't said if it failed during installation or after installation completed.
If Installationm fails, then you probably need what to follow the instructions under Device Driver Issues in that link.

Its probably your RAM or Settings. The First thing you need to do is download Memtest 86+ V2.11 and burn the Bootable ISO to a CD and boot that CD. Run Memtest for at least several Passes on your ram. That will determine if your Memory is setup and ok.

Haven't read it but I hope it'll be for a help,
Advanced troubleshooting for "Stop 0x0000007B" errors in Windows XP
Have you connected the L of SATA cable to the HD?
Have you loaded BIOS optimized defults?
Did Windows installation complete or did it stop after the reboot?
What Windows XP installation CD you have? (SP1/SP2/SP3, or no service pack?)
Are both HDs that you had the problem with SATA or was the first one IDE?
