Okay so I've ordered some parts to build my computer. This is also my first build, and after I finished and I booted it up, everything works great. The bios can recognize my hard drive, dvd drive, ram, cpu. After this I tried to install Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, and it failed half way through the setup, It encountered some error that was probably missing from the disc. After rebooting, I had the dreaded BOOTMGR is missing error. The Vista CD repair didn't really fix this, so I figured I would try to format and install a copy of Windows 7 RC instead. I got to the point where it would say "Setup is in progress, please wait" but my system hangs at this screen. I restarted again, and now my system is not recognizing a hard drive anymore. It recognizes my DVD drive in the 2nd SATA connection, but the first one(my hard drive) is now blank at the post screen. I thought I would at least try to change the SATA cable on my hard drive, so I unplugged my power supply and changed it. I plugged the cord back into my power supply. Press the power button, and nothing happens. My computer won't even turn on now. Did my power supply just fail on me? Will I have to bring my computer to the repair shop? Could my hard drive be a big problem too? Im guessing if the bios cannot read the hard drive, the windows setup could not also, and therefore it would hang at the setup.
