    that didn't work, but you may be onto something. the users's manual indeed mentions that CTRL+F1 unlocks more options, but none of them are present in my F6 BIOS. i still can't find any "multithreading" option under advanced bios features. only EIST, C1E, and TM2.

    according to the user's manual, the multithreading option only gives me the choice of four cores, or one. so forget that. i need two cores on. this is quite a let down. i have an EVGA 680i board that would let me turn off whatever cores I wanted, even core 0. oh well. thanks guys.
