major bug with ati 10.11 drivers,gpu doesnt downclock to idle clocks of core 157mhz and mem clocks of 300mhz,they stay at mid clocks of core 400mhz and memory 1200mhz,anyone else having this happen??? ati 10.10 drivers work fine

My card would never clock down to 157/300 at idle at desktop always 400/1000. now with 10.11 it is at 157/300 but only a few times others still at 400/1000. I just noticed this as I was scrolling down this page and the screen was flickering as the gpu is bumping up with load. And Also noticing other glitches here and there with gpu spd. i was gonna look for another hot fix.

Also 400/1200 on my 5870

can mess about with att tools and stuff like that to change it around, but that classes it as underclocking rather than going direct to the 27w power mode.

Think it was something to do with crossfire users not getting clocks correct on theeirs, but messes up my single card.

think last driver it was ok on for me was 10.9, but as you say, 10.10 seems ok also.

I kinda liked it as it saved a little on bill if i was using forums or msn etc etc.

it wont go to 157/300 if its overclocked in any way,and i dont think it does if your using more than one card/monitor

but for single cards running at stock clocks it always clocked down to 157/300 with any driver up untill this 10.11 one,10.10 drivers work fine for me so no big deal,hope ati fixes it in next release,i like my card to run cool when not playing games ect

I just tried to uninstall 10.11 rebooted into safe mode ran driver sweeper cleaned all ATI rebooted back and try installing 10.10 and it will not install the driver. It will install all other parts of the software. Says there was a error but the only info I can see is driver not installed. It wont let me install 10.10e either. I guess im off to see if I can get 10.11 installed again. Other then that any Ideas why it wont let me install 10.10 again?

did you go in program files and delete the ati folder after uninstalling? i do that sometimes as it leaves things behind,ive swapped from 10.10 to 10.11 and back again without issue so i dont know why you cant either
