  • GA-EX58-UD5: LAN problems

I have Vista x64 running on this board and am using the latest Realtek LAN drivers from Realtek

That page also has a Vista NIC/Ethernet diagnostics program.

The PHY loopback test (which does not use the drivers, I think) fails roughly 1 time out of three. Other tests pass.

More seriously, I get a repeatable TARGET_MDL_TOO_SMALL blue screen when saving, admittedly very large (150Mb) files across the LAN, at least from one application.

This occurs with both NICs on the board.

I have green LAN enabled and only one NIC enabled at a time.

I am using the latest Beta BIOS for the board.

Is this the same for everyone? Suggestions?

not exactly the same for me, but simililar when i built last week. bios = f4, same os... ended up rolling the driver back to 6.211.1016.2008. now, there's no problems.

Thanks. I cannot find that particular build. I'll give Install_Vista_6210_1020.zip

      a go

        Re: GA-EX58-UD5: LAN problems

The version 6.211.1016.2008 (16-10-2008) is the one that cames with board install CD. These works fine here. I think Vista 64 has compatible Realtek LAN drivers too from factory.
Also, there's a version @ Windows Update. I had problems with those drivers.
2 cents: first uninstall the drivers you have. Reboot. Then install mobo CD drivers from Device Manager.
