    Re: Case Modding Gallery!

Thank you, indeed! I'm preparing to work on an update/upgrade on this mod. case later this year. Nothing too radical. Same philosophy, different build materials. As it is, it's hard to do the system maintenance, dust cleaning, liquids change,...

    Hello. ;)

    Just 2 cents:
Don't expect the same results in different systems. Even diferent CPUs tested in exact same system (board, ram, psu, etc), don't reach the same frequencies.
Maybe the results you have seen before were from...

As every overclocking insider could tell you, there aren't no magical formulas for oc'ing. Every systems are different and some are more overclockable than others. Luck is a major factor here. If you get lucky with your CPU, board...

Yeah, the differences between Gigabyte X58 and X58A UD5 boards are the SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 supports.
So, what gives? Have you tried anything from the above suggestions? Does the BIOS recognises the 3 sticks already?

    Re: EX-UD5 & I7 920 OverClock Assistance

You really do not need to pump-up the IOH voltages to reach the 4Ghz stable. The chipset X58 handles with 4Ghz just fine @ stock voltages (1.1v).

Again, the problems were the CPU and QPI voltages. You'll need 1.42v QPI...

Yeah, that's precisely what you should do eso, boot with any stick. Once it posts, turn off the board using it's "blue" POWER button. Next, install the 3 RAM sticks (Slots #1, #3 and #5, the white ones) and you should be fine.

    Re: EX-UD5 & I7 920 OverClock Assistance

    Hello!

I have a 920 C0 and although it needs more vcore and QPI voltages to run stable @ 4Ghz (211 x19), Uncore @ 3800Mhz (211 x18) and tested 100 min. under LinX, there's something you can learn from it. So, I was only able...
