  • BSOD with RAID on GA-P35C-DS3R

Yeah.. I know... the Intel controller on the GA-P35C-DS3R is superior, but: I want to use the other purple connectors too for a RAID0 configuration.

When I try to install WinXP with the drivers provided by Gigabyte or directly from Intel I get a Blue Screen Of Death.

I press F6 after booting the XP CD-ROM, provide the floppy with RAID-drivers, and after that: a BSOD. I have two 320Gb Samsung Spinpoint drives and have tried several recent BIOS revisions.

In my opinion this should work out of the box or am I wrong?

With the Intel ICHxR controller, I have no problems at all, and the purple connectors (JMICRON controller??) work perfect in normal mode.

    Regards,

    Klaas Klaafsta.

But you need the drivers from Gigabyte or Jmicron for the Purple Ports.

    Edit:-
I've linked to my revision of the board, however the driver should be the same:-
    GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Driver - GA-P35C-DS3R (rev. 2.0)
GIGABYTE SATA2 RAID Driver (Preinstall driver)
Note: Press F6 during Windows* setup to read from floppy. (For non-VISTA operating systems)

I forgot to mention that I actually did use the proper JMICRON drivers (different than the intel matrix storage manager).

So I am still having my troubles....
