I recently installed the mobo, RAM, and video card listed below in my specs. Since installation, I've had skipping audio with multiple media players. I am not sure if Vista itself hangs when this happens as I have yet to notice other programs pause when skipping has occurred.
I am admittedly 'noob' status when it comes to tweaking systems, but i'm not entirely ignorant to some things. I reinstalled Vista x64 since I had learned x32 doesn't take full advantage of the 4GB RAM. I've had the same problem with skipping. I've tried uninstalling/re-installing Realtek audio drivers as well, with no sucess in correcting the problem. I've read that sometimes not having optimal RAM voltage may cause Vista to hang, so I've been looking into playing with those settings.
I looked through GIGABYTE's manual on BIOS settings, but it's honestly not very informative since I've not really done this before. I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any suggestions at all before I start modifying these settings and potentially harming my system, or not fixing problem at all...
Any ideas or advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance to all!
