  • ***EP45-UD3R Skipping Audio***

I recently installed the mobo, RAM, and video card listed below in my specs. Since installation, I've had skipping audio with multiple media players. I am not sure if Vista itself hangs when this happens as I have yet to notice other programs pause when skipping has occurred.

I am admittedly 'noob' status when it comes to tweaking systems, but i'm not entirely ignorant to some things. I reinstalled Vista x64 since I had learned x32 doesn't take full advantage of the 4GB RAM. I've had the same problem with skipping. I've tried uninstalling/re-installing Realtek audio drivers as well, with no sucess in correcting the problem. I've read that sometimes not having optimal RAM voltage may cause Vista to hang, so I've been looking into playing with those settings.

I looked through GIGABYTE's manual on BIOS settings, but it's honestly not very informative since I've not really done this before. I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any suggestions at all before I start modifying these settings and potentially harming my system, or not fixing problem at all...

Any ideas or advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance to all!

Can you link us to your ram, and then give us the full settings you are using.

4GB Often needs some changes. What BIOS are you using as well?

This is Just a template I use to ask people their settings, pay no attention to the numbers in it, replace with yours

        Re: ***EP45-UD3R Skipping Audio***

I have the same issue as the above poster, on the same motherboard.
        However, my differences are:
        G. Skill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ
        Core 2 Quad Q6600
        Geforce 6800 GT
60 GB IDE (ATA-100, 2MB cache) (vista64 installed on this one)
        30 GB IDE (ATA-100, 2MB cache)
500 GB SATA (mp3s, videos, etc stored here)
        My psu is PCP&P 500 W

I need to restart to get my bios settings, but I have not overclocked anything, everything is default. Memory is running at like ~1.9V or thereabout.

        Is my board bad?
