Please post me a link to your ram's exact model so I can check warrantied voltages, and then please fill this out with your settings as of now and I will advise back >>>>

Re: p35-ds4 with 8500c rams BSOD

I think you've mixed up memory multiplier with the system Bus.

It may be that your board doesn't like the 3.00 multiplier at some settings (mine is like that).

For starters underclock your ram, by setting:-

        1) Memory multiplier = 2.40
        2) Main memory settings = 5-5-5-15
        3) Advanced memory all to Auto; Except,
        4) tFRC (Refresh To Act Delay) = 56
        5) All voltages to Auto; Except,
        6) Set DDR2 Voltage to +0.2volts

From that base, see how your system runs. This way we can rule out other problems. Your memory to full speed can be tweaked later.

ok ready with that now i have my ram running at 640 mhz with a clock ratio at 9x and a cpu host frequency of 266 what do i do now to get my 1066? thnx

From your settings I thought you had a 1333 FSB chip, so infact you have a 1066 chip?
I didn't intend for you to start as low as 266 x 2.40 = 640Mhz. I thought your Host frequency was 333 as per the template above in your post.

Ok i can see from the tiny print in the Screenshot now.

Assuming you have no BSOD's now, try changing Just the memory multiplier to 3.00x, leaving the settings I gave you (above) exactly the same.

You've got a q6600 right? The CPU host frequency should be at 266Mhz for it to run at its normal speed.

Yes - That would be the correct combination for your CPU and your PC8500 (1066Mhz) ram.

In MIT section of bios, you should change the following:-
                    1) Set the main memory timings to 5-5-5-18
                    2) Performance Enhance to Standard
                    3) tRFC (Refresh To Act Delay) to 56

Let us know how you get along. Ya, you can uninstall Norton to make XP load faster ( J/K, but if you are using it I am serious! )
