I'm using the latest F3f BIOS for the P55-UD3R. There are a couple of problems, the most serious of which are:
No USB keyboard support in the F12 Boot options menu or at GRUB or other boot loaders. USB keyboards only begin to work again once the OS is loaded. The only work around for selecting alternative boot devices, etc., is to unplug and replug the USB keyboard. After this the keyboard will be responsive again.
This is not sensitive to any BIOS settings to do with Legacy USB etc. It does not make a difference which USB header the keyboard is plugged into. This is a bug.
Also, the option to turn off num-lock on boot is not available.
For EX58-UD5 release was been F6e=>F6=>F7a.No release for F6f.
I guess that was just the Extreme, oh well, nvm.
Anyone have any suggestions about which betas to try? I've only been able to reach 3.8Ghz in F5g, F6a, and F6b on my X58-UD5 while remaining stable. I can't seem to push past 3.8 using a reasonable voltage with my 920 (C0). I've been initially testing with the Cache and Memory benchmark in Sandra as that seems to be a quick and dirty test to see if I'm anywhere close to having a stable system then I get into Prime95.
currently using
200 BCLK
x19 multi
x17 uncore
x18 (x36) QPI
x8 memory multi (1600Mhz)
1.39v vcore (1.376v actual / 1.36v under load)
1.36v QPI
1.66v DRAM
For some reason using a multi of x20 leads to instant failure when I'm overclocking.
Hmm thats odd, I can get my 920 C0 to be stable at 3.8 on any of the beta's ive tried so far.
I tried one of the F6 betas (cant remember which specific one sorry)
also on F2 and onward for all the official ones.
even on the current F9e
I havent tried to push past 3.8 but 3.8 is stable for me.
Only OC my cores tho, I keep my uncore and dram frequency to: 1333-DRAM 2666-Uncore, with auto VTT the chip runs about 1.38 volts.
hi all, i have a MA790XT-UD4P mobo, and i already flash it to the latest driver F5. windows 7 ultimate 64 can now detect the Phenom II x4 955 BE correctly. but i still can't use dual channel with patriot's 2x2GB LLK kit (PDC34G1333LLK). should i update the bios to the latest F6 to fix this problem ?

Another possible problem: when the reset button is pressed, the system powers down and restarts cold. I don't think this is the expected behaviour, but then this is my first i5-based system...
Will the next beta bios attempt to address these problems? Please PM me if you have any info.
I found a way of avoiding backup BIOSes forcefully being flashed to EP45 UD3P: Simply turning off PC :D
I'm using F9 BIOS, but have tested the F10e (this has got stuck as backup bios) and F10f. Sometimes, a simple reboot from Windows or BIOS makes my board swap to the backup BIOS. It has got so far now, that I NEVER reboot from Windows - One of 10-20 reboots might f**k up my BIOS...After WinUpdate, I shut down PC, reboot manually later. I'm also thinking of starting shutting down PC after BIOS changes
To get back to F9 takes time...flash to F10f and later to F9.
You gotta be observant each reboot, during POST you'll see BIOS name ("F9"), sometimes it boots up with the "F10e" string: power off PC here !!!....wait few secs, power on...now it reboots normally with "F9" again, not the usual mishap:
"F10e" + auto reboot + "HPA BIOS MISSING" warning during POST + hijacked BIOS (F10e)
