  • confirm settings for gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

LSD, will be using a gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P, 2x2gb sticks of mushkin 996580. The following is the settings I asked for at the mushkin tech forum. Please look over and give any feedback how you feel of the settings.

    Code:
Performance Enhance: Standard (Higher can provide addional performance, tweak later)
    Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P): Disabled
(G)MCH Frequency Latch: 333 or 400Mhz , Auto if no post
    System Memroy Mutliplier(SPD): 800Mhz
    CAS Latency Time: 4
    tRCD: 4
    tRP: 4
    tRAS: 12

    >Advanced Timing Control
    tRRD: 4(3-5)
    tWTR: 5(2-5)
    tWR: 6(4-6)
    tRFC: 60(50-60)
    tRTP: 6(4-6)
    Command Rate(CMD): 2T
    >>>>>> Channel A
Static tRead Value: 8(5-6 with 266-333fsb 7-9 over 400FSB normally, 6 sometimes works too)
    tRD Phase(0-3) Adjustment: Auto *
    Trd2rd(Different Rank): Auto *
    >>>>>> Channel B
Static tRead Value: 8(5-6 with 266-333fsb 7-9 over 400FSB normally, 6 sometimes works too)

If not vista sp1, installing vista with only 1 stick would be best, getting windows updates then installing second stick.
    tRD Phase(0-3) Adjustment: Auto *
    Trd2rd(Different Rank): Auto *

*Adjusting these normally doesn't provide as much gains as 1 lower Static tRread Value itself, but will help provide additional performance when tweaked

    DRAM Voltage: +0.2 - +0.3v
    MCH Voltage: +0.1 to +0.2v
The note about the 1 stick was a question I had for them, they responded to my follow up: if using vista 64 with sp1, o.k. to install vista with 2 sticks of 2 gb.
