    Re: GA-EP45-DS4 new build

Hmm, Well I have a RAID setup 0+1 so I cannot test it for you. You are not using AHCI or RAID Are you?

Ya, I noted that in the manual as well. I am sure that is just for example purposes and is not necessary at all.

Acronis makes great backup software if you would just like to move on >>>

They do offer a Free version (not trial) but it is only for Seagate/Maxtor >>

If you would like me to look for some other freeware type of app for you I can, let me know

K, good luck. I used to LOVE my 1.44MB copy of 2003 GHOST but sadly it does not work with RAID or SATA

I do use Norton's Save and Restore 2.0 for imaging now though

          Re: GA-EP45-DS4 new build

          Hi

Just a point about my device manager. Now since as you said not to install the audio driver as I have installed my own sound card and creative driver for that, if you look at the device manager, just don't know what SM bus is? I expect the HD audio question mark is OK since I have not loaded one and I am not using HD audio, just 5.1 speakers

          thanks

            Re: GA-EP45-DS4 new build

SM Bus is part of the intel Chipset package, so it appears you do not have that installed.

That could be why XpressRecovery was not working for you, not sure. But here please do install this and reboot >>>

Or direct (Same Package, It is a 32/64 multi OS Installer) >>

Choose XP Home, right? Then on the next page you want the second link down the .exe not the top .zip file

              Re: GA-EP45-DS4 new build

Yeah after install the question mark on SM Bus has disappeared, only the HD audio driver is missing. It did not make any difference to recovery2.

I wonder if missing that SM bus driver would have affected performance, did not seem to!!

thanks again, I have ordered true image anyway.

                Re: GA-EP45-DS4 new build

I am not sure what all SM bus applies to. You can just disable that HD audio device if you like.

TrueImage is nice, too bad you did not have seagate drive it would be free
