Hi fellas.....long time lurker, but decided to start posting:
I just replaced my Asus P5Q Pro with the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P, and installed vista ultimate x64, and so far so good, except for two issues:
here is my setup:
e8400
2 x WD 3200AAKS Sata2 drives
1 x WD 2500KS Sata drive
1 x Asus DVD-RW/CD-RW sata
Radeon X1900XT 512mb
4 x 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 DDR2-800
Thermaltake 750W gamers PSU
S3 sleep mode crashing:
as with most of you with EP46-DS3R boards (prior to bios update), when I go into S3 mode, the front panel LED doesn't blink (which it should), and when I wake it up, the Board crashes (Fans are running at full speed instead of normal speed, no video, CPU dead, etc). Even the rest button doesn't work, so I have to do a hard reboot.
I manually set the RAM timings to 4-4-4-12 at 2.0v as the manufacturer suggested. I changed it all back to default Auto, and still same thing. I tried to manually set the voltages a couple of % values higher, and still same thing.
I haven't tried disabling the Load Line Calibration yet (as mentioned in this thread), but I will.
Do you guys have any recommendations of what else to try? I really am liking this board, and really want to keep it, but with my schedule + kids, I usually leave several apps open, and just put the PC into S3 sleep mode so that i can use resume my work quickly....it is a good feature for me, and would hate to return this board because it doesn't work.
any recommendations are appreciated!
Overclocking Settings
I tried to set the following:
Vcore = 1.275
FSB = 410
RAM timings: 4-4-4-12
Vram = 2.02v
everything else in auto
system doesn't pass Prime95, and when in conjunction with the S3 problem, at reboot the BIOS tells me that Overclocking failed, thus needing to reset it.
can any of you experts recommend settings for me for this particular combination of hardware?

- S3 Sleep mode not working: crash (blank screen) after wakeup
- Cannot get system stable for Overclocking above 400fsb
