Cannot boot computer (GA-EP35-DS3L)

I am not able to boot my computer, this is the first time I tried to boot it up and it didn't work.I am no even able to see the POST, the screen displays as 'no input'

I get 3 sharp beeps, a pause then continuous beeping.

I checked:

All the fans are moving
everything is seated properly

I have tried:

removing the video card and reseating it
removing ram and placing them in slot 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 2
when i remove 1 stick of ram, it stops beeping but still no video output
inserted an old PCI video card -> still same issues...

Any ideas?

You'll probably have to wait for LSD to walk through this with you, but it sounds to me like a h/w problem - not something easily fixed with BIOS settings.

Only thing I can think of is, use a jumper pin and reset the bios. If that does not work see if you can get a hold of another stick of ram. Preferably a stick of Mushkin or G.skill that will run its default voltages as 1.8v.

Checkout the Troubleshooting Procedure part of the manual.

Continuous long beeps: Graphics card not inserted properly

Continuous short beeps: Power error

Re-check all your power connections.

How good is your PSU? Could you have another borrowed from a friend?

Check also is the CPU is correctly seated and if the 6-pin ATX 12v connector is well fitted.

Are you using the stock Cooler and is definetly spinning?

Also have you remembered to connect the ATX12volt connector (4/8 pin). I know it seems obvious, but some people do forget.

an as per one of the questions above, what make and model is your Power supply?

Yes the fans are definately turning..

What throws me off are the 3 beeps, followed by continuous beeps

I thought perhaps it was video card which is why I removed it and inserted a base PCI 16mb video cad to test, same problems...

Could it be a short on the mobo? how can i test?

Can you test your ram in another board to be sure neither of them are DOA? Test each stick by itself.

Then please try booting again with only one stick in slot one, and you should probably Clear the CMOS Fully before doing so, here is how I recommend this (See post #2) >>>

To test your board for shorts, please remove it from the case. Then take it OFF the motherboard tray and set on a Box or wooden table. Then try to start the system with the minimum items >>> CPU/Heatsink, One stick of ram in slot one, GFX card and that is it, no hard drives or CD drives. If it starts you will need to leave it out of the case and one by one plug in your other items. If they all work finally then check for sure there is not short on your tray (I use washers on both sides of my boards)

Ya know, I just helped someone with the same issue no long ago, turned out to be he had one stick of dead ram, which happens. So test each one by themselves in another PC because you may be trying with a dead stick when you do try one at a time in your system. >>>
