  • Is the PCI bus frequency locked?

Whilst overclocking my GA-P35C-DS3R, it occurred to me that unlike the PCI-e bus, there was no lock/adjustment for the PCI bus.

Does anyone know if the 33Mhz PCI bus is derived from the PCI-e bus, ie one third and is varied if that setting is changed, or it is independently locked?

You used to have to be careful Overclocking on boards (older chipsets) as the PCI bus frequency would change in relation as you changed the FSB.

Ya, the PCI bus IS locked at 33.3, it is independent and not adjustable for safety reasons.

Here is where you will see this in ET6, it is also shown in ET5 I just do not have it installed to show you a image of that. >>>

      Thanks LsdMe,

I just had wondered if I had missed a bios option somewhere :-)
