Does this affect performance in anyway?

I'm clocking my processor at 400 FSB. With 1000 rated RAM, I require a 2.5 multiplier. And the only way to get a 2.5 multiplier is to set the MCH Frequency Latch to 266. Is this setup slower than just setting it to 400 and run RAM 1:1?

It really depends, but yes the 266 speed strap is much slower FSB operations. You should be trying to use 333 or 400 MCH latch

Just raise your FSB some and use a different memory multi Like 2.66 or 2.4
