    System Memory Multiplier ..............: [3.00] = 999 Ram Freq

    Try that before you RMA
Can be my setting even when I running MemTestx86 with memory at 800mhz?

    In my settings don't have 3.00...only 2.40 and 3.20...

      Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

Then you are going to need to either run the ram slower, change your FSB and CPU mutli or use a different MCH strap that will have a correct 1000 Multi

There is many ways you can do that easily >>>
(G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [333 or 400] <<< using different ones will give different Memory Multi's

You can also use 8 or 8.5 for your CPU Multi and then not need to use 3.0 for ram multi, but the easiest way to get around this would be to overclock to 3.74.

      3.74
      Robust Graphics Booster ...............: AUTO
      CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 9X
      Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................:.0.0

CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 416 Mhz

      DRAM Performance Control
      Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
      Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Disabled
      (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [400]
      System Memory Multiplier ..............: [2.40] = 998 Ram Freq
      Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 998MHz
      DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

      Or 3.36 >>>

      Robust Graphics Booster ...............: AUTO
      CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 8X
      Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................:.0.0
      CPU Frequency ...........................: 3.36Ghz (420 x 8)

      Clock Chip Control
      Standard Clock Control
      CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Enabled]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 420 Mhz

      DRAM Performance Control
      Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
      Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Disabled
      (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [400]
      System Memory Multiplier ..............: [2.40] = 1008 Ram Freq
      Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 1008MHz
      DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

      Or 3.54

      Robust Graphics Booster ...............: AUTO
      CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 8X
      Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................:.0.5
      CPU Frequency ...........................: 3.536Ghz (416 x 8.5)

      Clock Chip Control
      Standard Clock Control
      CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Enabled]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 416 Mhz

      DRAM Performance Control
      Performance Enhance...................: [STANDARD]
      Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Disabled

      System Memory Multiplier ..............: [2.40] = 998 Ram Freq
      Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 998MHz
      DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

But again if you want to leave things as they are, since you do not have MCH latch set you will need to set it to 333 or 400 and see which has the 3.2 multi, I think 400 does

        Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

Thanks Lsdmeasap! I will try this...

But memory running at 800 the memtest should be running fine, ins't? This is a symptoms of memory fails, no?

          Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

Well not always. Running it underclocked at 800 will need some settings changed. Post what you are using now and I will see if I see any issues.

If not then yeah it could be DOA ram

            Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

I tried the settings, but the maximum is 398, more of this, the system don't boot up. I made some tests and looks that when memory run over 800, the system doens't boot up...

              Hmmm

Please post for me the last settings you tried for 1066. Could be DOA ram. Do you have another board to test them in?

                    Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

I done test. First I tried with one bank only, in a mem test I have a lot of errors...so a tested the other, in memtest its passed in all tests...I think that one bank of dual channel kit is bad...only rma now...thanks a lot!

Now I have another issue...I Trying to install Windows XP SP2 with the good bank of memory. The installation copy all files, but when pc restart and will start to install windows XP, the system freazes and appears some strage characters in screen in green color...

                    Anyone can help me?

                    Thanks!

                      Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

Did you test EACH stick by itself in slot one? If not please do, so you are sure which ram sticks are bad

Can you post a image of this error? What settings are you using in the BIOS for disk controls? And are you sure those are correct for your setup? Like for XP you need to load a F6 driver at the very begining of install, did you do that? Post pics of Integrated Peripherals BIOS page if you are not sure, so I can see what you have set. Also please tell me what Disk drives you have, and what ports they are connected to (Color and port #)

Yes, I made the test os each memory stick in slot one alone...one of then runs great, but the other has a lot of errors...now I'm using only the good stick and with this I can set memory to 1000 without problems.

There's no image from error installing XP, because XP only copy the files to hard disk partition and reboot, before start to install, where appears "Press a key to start CD/DVD", i don't press anything, for not enter the cd again and continue installation, so the system freeze and show some strange characters in green (in my last count, three) in this same screen. This occors with cd of winXP SP2 in the drive.

I tried too after the installation copy the files to drive and reboot remove the cd from drive and left the system to continue installation and apperar a message:
Press a key to start CD/DVD.....
                        Disk Error
                        Press Ctrl+Alt+Del

I have an Seagate Barracuda SATA3gbps 32mb buffer 500GB connect in SATA1 port, the first one. In SATA2 port I have a LG DVD Writer. All setting of disk in Bios is unchanged, I only changed the MIT options.

For this board I need to load a sata driver with F6 in begining of installation of Windows XP SP2? In my old machine (Athlon64, DFI NF4 board e Seagate SATA 3gbs 160GB) I don't have to load a sata driver, the installation is ok without driver...where I can download this sata driver?

I can take some photos with my digital camera from error and bios setting and post here if necessary...

                        Thanks a lot!

The driver is on your motherboard Install CD and your manual should tell you how to extract the drive off the cd with a Menu.exe file, for some reason it is not posted on your Motherboard page. But yes it is needed for a XP Install

If your system worked until this ram error and you changed nothing but MIT settings then you should be ok

Thanks again Lsdmeasap! I will try this...But if in begining of installation Windows XP SP2 found the hard disk and copy files into him, why after the rebot occurs this problem? It's strange...
Why Vista don't need this driver?

Update: I search the CD of motherboard...but I can't find the driver for installing Windows XP SP2, whats the name of this?

obs: my memory is going to RMA...

Lsdmeasap, I done some conclusive tests! I found the sata driver (.oem) in cd of motherboard, so I tried to use, but still don't work...

So, I pick up a Western Digital 160GB SATA2 hard disk from other machine and put in this with GA-EP43-DS3L. For my surprise, Windows XP SP2 installed fine!!

So, I conclude that is something with my new Seagate Barracuda 500GB. I think in two things:

1-Some goes wrong 'cause I'm trying to install Windows XP SP2 in a HD that already have Vista X64. ( Vista is on drive C: (partition 1) and I'm trying to install XP SP2 in D: (partition 2)).

                              2-Disk damaged?

                                Re: GA-EP43-D3SL crashs

Hmm, Well XP and vista can be installed on the same drive. XP should need a driver, Vista includes it is why it is not needed for vista.

Can you search your motherboard Install CD fro Menu.exe? If that is there you will click on it and you will be shown a windows to copy the driver onto a Floppy

It could just be a random error with your 500Gb disk, as I have not seen or heard of the error. I dont think it has to do with vista being on there.

Do you need anything on the vista install? If so maybe you would be better off copying/moving what you need from vista to another drive. Then format the disk and install XP first, then Install Vista. Vista will setup the dual boot menu for you, XP wont
