    Re: EP45-DS5 with Corsair TWIN2X8500C5D

I got some Mushkin 8500 today. All seemed well with loose timings, could even benchmark in Everest.
But then it started to freeze again. Exactly the same as the Corsairs. I don't think I can do much more now, time to RMA the board :(

Hehe, as for being paranoid, perhaps sitting with these issues over the last five days trying different things makes me think of every possibility!

Ahh you know the drill. No need for RMA so quickly post me your settings and I can give you better timings since I know you have quality ram now

        Re: EP45-DS5 with Corsair TWIN2X8500C5D

It's just that I've used timings that was semi-stable before with the Corsairs.
        5-5-5-15, 1,2 MCH core, 2.1V RAM.
Tried all auto in advanced settings.
Going after your list in other threads, I've used the highest settings for stability, like if you've typed 3-6, I use 6.

Hmm, Please post your full settings anyway if you dont mind. Just trying to save you from a board RMA.

And some of the posted settings I gave you may be too high and cause errors, I set seom higher in a attempt to see if your ram would work eventually or not. So please when you get a second before you fill out a RMA form let me see your settings and give you some suggested to try. If no dice then RMA the board

                  Re: EP45-DS5 with Corsair TWIN2X8500C5D

Ahh so you are stable now? That is good.

Those settings above should for sure work, they are very loose and can be tightened up for sure.

If you have tried, and think not then I would have to say your CPU overclock is not at all stable.... Not the ram.

To remove your ram and test that you can bring down the ram multi to 2.0 so you ram is 667 and then you will know for sure if instabilities are in the CPU when you stress test.

Those timings for sure should be fine, and as I said can come down alot in some places

Let me know how you get along

                    Re: EP45-DS5 with Corsair TWIN2X8500C5D

I'm not overclocking FSB or anything, I just had to set vcore to that to get 1.25 in BIOS.
CPU-Z and Everest shows vcore at 1.23.
I'll try your suggestions this weekend.
I just assumed 1.25 is standard for Q9550 but maybe it isn't?

There is no "Standard" so to say for CPU voltages, all chips are different and all have different VID's. If you are not overclocking though, Normal Or Auto should work for your CPU voltage at stock FSB

Since you did not put that part into the above settings table I was not so sure what you was using
