Re: booting in overclocked mode not possible

Set MCH latch back to 333 and leave Performance Enhance on Standard.

Just so you know, when making BIOS changes a Double Reboot is normal

          Hello again,

sadly it does not work. I just started my pc for the first time today with the 3,64ghz and after it rebooted without bios beep it did beep but showed 3,00 ghz. then i went to the bios settings and put 3,64ghz again. restart. same again no beep and automatic restart and 3,00 again. then i let it boot to windows with 3,00ghz. an now i am here, nothing changed but me feeling bad.

i hope this is the information you requested.

To describe my problem better, i can run at 3,00 ghz without any problem.
now i set 3,64 ghz. turning my pc off for 5 minutes and then on again works fine. But turning my pc off for about 25 minutes and then on again, it tries to boot but makes 3 false boot attempts. Then it boots with 333*9=3 ghz. When i enter the bios it shows a screen that overclocking failed but all settings still are as i set them. even the cpu frequency is set as 405*9=3,64ghz.

Does this mean that it boots with 3ghz but then when i enter the bios it shows my own values?

Yeah 3 boots means something is not right.

I see you have many Settings Enabled that you should Disable for overclocking, they are pointed out below

Re: booting in overclocked mode not possible

                  Ok,

this morning i turned on my pc then -> 3 times boot -> 3ghz -> bios-> setting 3,64ghz and mch from 1,16V to 1,18V-> 3 false boot -> setting mch vcore from 1,18 to 1,20 -> 3 false boot -> setting ram timings from 4-4-4-15 to auto -> 3 false boot -> setting mch vcore back to 1,16V and ram timings to 4-4-4-15 and changing from 333 to 400 mch latch and voila it booted up successfully. So it only works with 400 latch, weird is that mch latch 333 works when my pc is warm and did run some time before changing back to 333.

I'll then try to set these cxE states off and disable also eist.

But if i leave the setting at mch latch 400 i have to get along with twice booting as described in the German gigabyte forum:
                  Code:
It is known and often discussed, that setting some oc values in bios may lead to
once on-off-on -problem at cold boot (psu without power)
This behavior isn't serious but may be nerving.
It is connected with the ram-multi and cpu-strap.
Because the strapping cannot be saved when the psu is powerless, the mch must be
reprogrammed->power on -> reprogramming strap -> reset -> new boot up with changed strap.
As long as the psu isn't powerless the set strap is kept.
I did translate this quote and tried to give the gist of it.
I hope you can understand my quoted text, because i'm a German guy whose English might not be the best.

Re: booting in overclocked mode not possible

yeah right at 400 FSb or above you will likely need 400 Set for MCH latch. I believe I suggested 400 to you one page one.

As for the Double reboot, it should not always be that way just when you first make the change. It shouldn't happen on each reboot. But then again I do not have P45 yet so I am not sure about all it's quirks

You likely need more MCH voltage such as 1.3+ and it wont happen
