I have my flame suit on in case I need it, but I have just finished assembling my machine, and I fired it up expecting to hear beeps. Heard none. Realized I don't have an onboard speaker. So busted into an old box and rescued the speaker from oblivion, and plugged it in, hopefully with the correct polarity? (red + / black -)?? Fired up the machine and no beeps.
I have an ATI Radeon X1900XT card onboard that was given to me as a gift from a friend who couldn't get it to work on his Mac Power PC. So in reality I have no idea if it is worth anything. Obviously there is no native video on the mobo, so how would I know if the video card is working? And if it is, having not gotten far enough along to install drivers, how will this card speak to my monitor (it's all VI, no VGA)
I'm just a little lost at the moment.
Thanks in advance for any help.
