Re: 6 beeps Dr Debug 4F then 36 after trying to update bios
Old thread but I must add my experience.
I have two Z77 Extreme 4 boards, one with an i7-2600K, the other with an i5-3570K.
I have used virtually every BIOS version available for this board. My first Z77 Extreme 4 had BIOS 1.20, the second 1.80. I currently use BIOS 2.90 on both boards.
I've never had a problem flashing or using any of the BIOS versions, all have flashed perfectly the first time and the PC always booted fine after the BIOS update.
What update method do I use? Instant Flash and ONLY Instant Flash. I would never use the Windows update method, known to be prone to failure regardless of the board or manufacture.
I've even used modified BIOS files with Instant Flash, and if the BIOS file is not right, Instant Flash displays an error.
