Hello All,
I have tried to search around the forums, but have not had any luck locating someone with the same issue. I have a brand new build with an ASRock 990FX, AMD FX-8120 (not OC) and 16 GB RAM. I have installed server 2008 R2 to set up as my home test server while working on certifications. I have had server 2008 R2 running poorly since early March. The OS continuously stops responding and makes it almost impossible to use. While looking at performance monitor, reliability monitor, and task manager, they all are clean and show almost nothing in terms of resource utilization. And reliability monitor shows nothing because no programs are truly locking - only not responding .
Everything does eventually start working again, but it is intermittent (sometimes it works for 10 seconds cleanly, or sometimes up to 5 minutes). Does anyone have any thoughts on troubleshooting? I have tried new hard drives thinking it could have been an old failing drive(s). I have tried 4-80GB drives (Basic), and I am currently trying 1-80GB drive for OS, 3-80GB drives in RAID5. Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!
