Some tweak for Windows XP/2000
First of all after install, Defragment hardisk. If you made a clean install you will see a huge improvement in your system if you keep hardrives clean
whitout fragments.
If possible keep Pagefile in separate drive/partition . This drive should be fastest in your system if you have more than one hard drive.
In Perfomance Options in System Properties you can set location/size for pagefile.
In Perfomance Options in System Properties you can customise Visual Effects removing all unwanted effects.
If you have more than 256MB ram,you can chage "DisablePagingExecutive", this willstop paging memory out of ram to the hard drive.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\ "DisablePagingExecutive" change value to 1 (default 0)
LargeSystemCache iIf you have more than 256 MB of ram change this to 1 to have XP run the kernel in memory.
