I am having a problem. For some reason when I disable file protection in the registry of XP it doesnt work. I have tried you registry tweak, and everything is still denied. Any ideas? I did uprade xp would that make a difference?
You have to patch (hex edit) sfc_os.dll, default location is C:\Windows\System32. Go to physical offset 0000E2B8 (0E2B8h) and change the 8BC6 bytes to read 9090. If the bytes don't match then don't do it.
once this is done your registry changes(you still have to do them) should stick
