  • The_tweaker: Hopefully TweakTown's test lab if enough AMD owners complete the petition here.

    • Yep, I've been doing a bit of tweaking again....this is just the beginning....I hope :D

      • He got stuck at 239FSB and a score of 24825 because the stupid VIA people STILL have not incorporated an AGP/PCI lock on their chipsets....you would think they would have got the hint by now...

Still an impressive score though. We will see if anyone can oust the top Intel rigs at 25-26k.....if they do it will definetely require an Nforce chipset.

        • just waitin' for the jump to nv40 or the next ati boost to go along with the dual channel capabilities of the 939

          • Also note though, that 9800 was clocked at 530 core which is where a big chunk of the score is coming from...and, Intel rigs have been scoring that high for 6 months now...a good processor, but in my opinion its a little late to the table....Prescott should definetely offer it solid competition.

            • but, if the price diff is comparable, i'm goin' 64

              • My new XP2600+ untweaked and all at stock:

                • Couple of things:

Sry for the big pic, I forgot to trim it

Second, I'm running 45.23 drivers, I just read that the best performance is through 44.03 drivers, although UT2003 has a 20% performance increase with the 45.23 drivers, so w/e, I dont feel like changing drivers around right now. However, I def know I can easily hit 9000, maybe 10000 with a good o/c, so I'm content.

Finally, the nForce3 is out/coming out soon, its on the nvidia web-site, pure 64 bit processing :thumb:. And, if the AMD CPU's are a heck of alot cheaper than the INtel's, I'll get the AMD, as it seems it'll whoop what any INtel 32 bit can do w/o an insane o/c. I'm gonna wait till PCI-Express mobos are out, then I'll build a new system. However, the prescott's arent coming out till when? late 2004? Man, I might be changing to be an AMD fan, that is, if they keep the price of the new 64 bit CPU low . : peace2: Mista K6

                        • I just downloaded 3dmark2001se and I ran the benchmark, my score ended up as 3715 with everything default. Is this good for my system?

                          • if only i knew how to get my multiplier to work....then i could finaly hit 10000, alwell i'll fly past that once i get my new hardware next month.

                            my current hardware:
AMD athlon 1.4GHz thunderbird OCed to 1.564
-cooled by Thermalright SK-7 and ThermalTake Smart Case Fan 2
                            (temps range from 50~70)
                            GigaByte 7VAXP Ultra
ATI 9500 PRO with ThermalTake Giant 2
                            Western Digital 100GB 7200RPM
                            768MB random crappy PC2100 DDR

                            my future hardware(within a month)
                            AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.08GHz (until i OC :D )
                            -cooled by ThermalTake Aquarius2
                            GigaByte 7VAXP Ultra
ATI 9500 PRO with ThermalTake Giant 2
                            Western Digital 100GB 7200RPM
                            1GB of GeIL DDR RAM 512MB PC-3200 400Hz

....needless to say my machine will be able to fly past 10000 in 3DMARK2001SE :afro:

I wouldn't be happy with it but that SDRAM is likely holdin' ya back some and Compaqs arn't the fastest things around as they're built for super stability/reliability but have ya made sure that ya've shut down unnecessary background processes before runnin' the test? :?:
                              Here's a lowly XP1800+ of mine on a KT333 mobo with GF4 MX440.

if you got a new mobo, ram, processor(the one you have is prob still a good one) you would have a killer machine. like wiggo said compaq builds for stability not speed and also sdram is not nearly as fast as DDR......and sometime in the future MRAM will own us all:blah:
