    Ok I'm building a gaming computer and want opinions on which processor would be better for gaming.

    Presscott 3.0E
    Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
    memery ??

    or

    AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    Asus K8T800 K8V SE Deluxe
    memery ??

    I will be buying this in about two weeks or sooner so your opinions are appreciated.

    The Athlon64 with some good Cas2 PC3200 or PC3500, with at least 512mb

      recycled from the trash [and in use]
      2 = 945G chipset boards 2G Celeron and dual Pentium
      3 = AM-37 FIK motherboards 2-2.6 G
      in storage 810/815 chipset P3's 800MHZ[4setup and +? not]

        I am leaning towards the AMD (I've always wanted one). What would be good memery with maybe a slight O/C?

            corsair, twinmos, kingston...all fine, but as said, use low timings :)

              Anyway, this will get you started (click them, they're links):
              A64 3200
              A64 3400
              Copper CPU HSF
              Geil Dual Channel 512MB PC3200 CAS 2
              Mushkin Dual Channel 512MB PC3500 CAS 2
              Mushkin Dual Channel 1GB PC3500 CAS 2
              Geil Dual Channel 1GB PC3200 CAS 2

              If you don't have video as it is:
              Radeon 9800 Pro
              Radeon 9800XT (comes with Half-Life 2 voucher)

              For a really nice SATA drive:
              Western Digital 10000RPM 74GB 8MB cache SATA
              Western Digital 10000RPM 36BG 8MB cache SATA
              I just happened to have all those saved up. :D

                I went mushkin 3500 only becuase ocz corsaire went up in prise , but now so has mushkin . but the amd is keeping up with my friends 3g intel and i wil be playing with 64 bit stuff in a bit.....have fun gl
