Hey guys - was hoping some people here could shed some light on my problem.
I have recently put together a new comp for myself but i am having problems with my internet stability on it. Generally browsing the web never seems to have any problems but when i run programs such as Ventrillo or multiplayer games i find myself dropping out frequently. The interesting thing with these dropouts, however, is that they do not always disconnect me from all programs at the same time. For example i may drop out of my multiplayer game - but still be in ventrillo, and able to talk/recieve VOIP, or vice versa.
I did a test with my laptop by sitting in ventrillo on the same internet connection and when this PC dropped out the laptop stayed connected so i have ruled out it being an ISP based problem.
Looking at drivers my current driver is the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller #2 - version 6.222.504.2009, which is the newest one. I also experieced the same problems with the version that came with my motherboard.
I am running windows vista 64bit, i7 920 CPU on a EX58-UD4P motherboard - i also run Kaspersky Internet Security (I have tried disabling this - didn't work)
really any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance,
PyroPope
