Laptop Turns Off By Itself

Hi,

My laptop turns itself off when I'm in the middle of doing something, especially playing simulation games. It has a new fan in it, because it did the same thing before. It's an HP Pavillion ze4300. The computer itself is between 4 & 6 years old. Do you think it may be time for a new one?

The fan is only a little over a year. When I got the new fan put in the laptop was still under warranty, but I don't think it's under warranty anymore.

A laptop over four years old just isn't worth maintaining. Try cleaning out the dust with compressed air, and consider replacing the fan. However, it's really just about time to upgrade regardless of the stability problems.
