From my experience of Samdung, steer clear of them. I used to work for a reseller, and at least 1 out of three of their drives failed, and at least 1 out of 2 of their CD-ROM drives. It wasn't just a bad batch either, this was over hundreds of units. We ended up changing supplier because of them!

I have to agree, I am a big fan of samsung, and everything that I own with the samsung name on it is top notch, except their drives. I do not reccomend their drives for purchase..

I have a Samsung CD on my Box at work - it's an absolute peice of crap - not really a problem since I install most software from the network anyway - but I'd never buy another one.

Samsung monitors, on the other hand are a great value :thumb:

I've got two Pioneer DVD drives here, no problems at all!
