Hi,
I had a dual boot (XP pro, Vista Ultimate) with 3 sata HD, ans sata dvd burner. Every thing worked fine.
A while ago I became a beta tester for Windows 7 beta, and later release candidate. Still every thing went fine.
I got windows 7 retail. I decided to make a clean Install and get rid of XP and Vista.
Then the problems started
1-the power supply died - I replaced it
2-the on board LAN card caused the OS to reboot - so I deactivated it
and installed an new network card.
3-Now I was getting bad write to second and third HDs
When I would disconnect then OS would stop crashing
So I remouved them and installed a brand new Western digital 1 TB as
second HD for a while (a couple of days the problem seemed solved)
And while I was copying a folder of 1 GB it crashed again.
I could not beleave that 4 HD went defective all at the same time.
I have tryed all HD individually and installed Windows 7 on after the other
and they all work fine untill I install as a second HD
They also work fine when I install them in a USB box as external drive
I can copy any thing to them no crashes.
Now I think that may be the Sata port or controler is faulty.
I have switch them arround still problems.
Does anybody have a suggestion short of changing motherboard or cpu.
Thanks in advance, Guy
