They know they have a prob and are working on it, they say they have corrected it...I think that it is getting a lot better...about 1 week ago it took about 12hours before it would get a connection...but now it is nearly everytime :cool:

This isn't your typical distributed computing program. And I see no mention of teams, but it does have potential to help mankind. The portion of mankind with email accounts at least.

When they get the Outlook Express version up and running I think I'll give this one a whirl.

OK, It's not like curing AIDS or anything, but it would be cool if we could slam spam to the mat and make it cry "Uncle". :thumb:

I'll drink to that. I had to limit my daughter's Hotmail account to receive emails ONLY from those in her address book. It grates my nerves to have to go through and dump the porn stuff so that my eight year old can read her emails.

Yeah, this whole spam thing is way out of hand. I'm still puzzling out how the "septic tank" ones get past my filters????

This has got to be the scourge of the internet -- well, pedophiles and spam, pedophiles being much worse of course.

Yeah both girls have had their's set at address book only for a while now but how a lot of these have bogus addies is beyond me.

There are some real brains behind all this garbage mailing.
Rarely does any of it originate from a valid email address. Not a great deal of it ever is addressed to me, yet I recieve it anyway.

I used to bounce a lot of it using the Kmail in Linux, but then I just ended up with an inbox full of messages from daemon "Address contains permanent fatal errors" :shoot2:

I wish I understood it all, as that would surely help me to make better filters:?:

Hi guys,

As team captain for UD, I received a response from UD saying to please be patient while they are incorporating the second phase of the "molecule molestation". The server may not work first go, but leave UD sitting in your system tray and more than likely it will start sending within 10 minutes. The results are a fair bit larger than before (about 500KB), so those who are with an ISP that measures uploads and has their system running 24/7 should carefully monitor their usage.

Apparantly the UD server is restricted to 600 concurrent connections at the moment, but that will be fixed when the Ligandfit project gathers steam. So for those running UD, stick with it - things are on the way up!!! :thumb:

I don't like the New UD client, its not as stable on Win9X boxes as the old one. I'm still running it though.. and since early last week I haven't had any connection problems with their servers.

yea i tried ud fro liek 5 hrs and then went bak to prime95..someone tell me when it reliably connects again:D

Yeah the new Leginfit project is alot bigger than the old "think" project, think used to send and recieve around 10 - 25kb per molicule.. unless there was a update then it was about 700kb.. now this new leginfit project is sending aroudn 300 - 500k and recieving 100 - 300k.. now this is putting alot of strain on the server.. from what i have heard they are getting more bandwidth.. or somethinng like that...
as someone mentioned there is a 600 user limit so that is really not that much especially when it woudl take about 6 -10 mins for a dial up user to send there data to the server and another 1 - 5 mins to download the new data for the molicules.. i have no idea why the new leginfit molicules are so large guess it has somethign to do with it complexicty (no idea how to spell that work lol)

i am sticking with UD, i have not had it runinng for about a week now.. lags my net too much so when i get ADSL later this week then i will start it running again

i got around 250,000 points atm.. and hope that i can get more :) hehe
