  • Radeon 5770 1GB DDR5 or 6770 1GB DD 5 ?

Hello everyone, first of all,I know that the both of this are pretty much low range cards but since I wont be doing any high resolution gaming and that my budget is around 100,euros either of them will have to do.
Now,what I would like to know is how big of an upgrade will any of these two be from a Radeon 4670 512 MB DDR 3,(I also will upgrade AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 5200+ 2.71 GHz to AMD II X 3 455,3.3 GHz),which one is actually better, will my Seasonic 520 W be able to handle either of them and is gaming at resolutions such as 1440x900 really more CPU than GPU dependent? Thanks in Advance!

Your Seasonic psu is fine for a single high end video card.
If appears that the 6770 is merely a rebadged 5770 with minor bios updates.
The 1400x900 screen resolution should not be a problem. With the most demanding video games, you will need to use medium settings for decent game play. Overclocking your system will probably help when playing demanding games.

Check out 6770 reviews where they should include comparable gaming results with similar video cards.

Both of those cards will be a huge improvement over your 4670,the 6770 card has improved dx11,it should run games at 1440 res on high,I have plenty games using a 5770 card if you click my YouTube link below

I would go for the cheapest card of the two, both cards are similar and they don't use much power

My N460GTX with my P35-DS3L mobo has similar performance to newer systems that run with full 2.0 bandwidth.
My 16x 1.x bandwidth is 8GB/s which is half the 16GB/s with 2.0 systems that run a single card at 16x.

Pci-e 2.0 can run at 16x or 8x depending on how many graphic cards you have in xfire, you should be ok with pci-e 1.0 as profjim has no problems

                Re: Radeon 5770 1GB DDR5 or 6770 1GB DD 5 ?

I'm not familiar with AMD chipset bandwidth.
Most of my gaming benchmark scores are nearly identical to much newer systems running a similar video card with much stronger processors.
                http://forums.tweaktown.com/video-ca...g-results.html has my benchmarking results.

The attached picture shows the difference between Intel P35 (1.x pci-e bandwidth) and P45 (2.0 pci-e bandwidth).
