  • Aiw8500dv 64mb -> 128mb?

    I have had the AIW8500DV 64MB for about a month now from NewEgg but, was wonding if it's worth exchanging it for the AIW8500DV 128MB. It runs great but, when it comes to games like UT2003 it lags in the big enviorments. How much performance would I see? At the time, I paid $200 bucks for it, now, it's only $165. The AIW8500DV 128MB is $265 now. So, do you think it's worth the $65? Thanks.

    The AIW version has a lot of features not on your current card incl. video in, video out, TIVO-like software, etc.. It is a good multifuctional card, but not fully optimized for gaming. There is an 8500 version with 128mb for gaming that is cheaper than the AIW version. My boy has the same card that you have now running on a 1.2gz Athlon w/512mb ram and has had no problems. Do you have AA switched on? Try turning it off if you do. Have you tried tweaking the card's settings? Are you trying to run with the game settings maxed?
