  • worth upgrading to nvidia 200 series card if not running x64 OS?

I was reading on some thread somewhere saying that if you are running an x86 OS like XP pro (which I run) instead of an x64 OS like Vista, then you wouldnt really need to upgrade to a 200 series card because XP doesnt take advantage of its full features. I have an 8800 GTS 512 which is ok for now, but wanting to upgrade soon, but I dont have an x64 OS, I just have XP pro. I would assume I would still bennefit from upgrading to a newer 200 series card over my current one wouldnt I?
What features would I be missing out on with a 200 series card besides being able to run DirectX 10?

    thanx in advance :)

I do not use Nvidia but yes I would say you will see clear benefits no matter the OS, they would just be more pronounced if you were using x64, and that would likely only apply to certain games or benchmarks anyway

Most games and benchmarks run slower on 64bit OS ( sometimes hard to notice that while playing games but easy to see while running benchmarks). Using win XP you won't be able to run DX10 and thats all.
64bit OS will be faster if game needs lot of RAM and you can't adress more than ~3.2GB in 32b windows ... but I haven't found any game like that yet.

        Sorry for my english
