  • 3-way sli bridge with 2-way sli?

Does anyone know whether or not the new 3-way sli bridge will work with regular 2-card sli?

I have an evga 680i board and two 8800 cards but no sli bridge.
I want to buy a regular sli bridge but can only find the 3-way in stock.

I am hoping that I can use the 3-way for regular 2-card sli.

Dunno... hopefully someone has experience in this and can help you out. I have always used the Crossfire myself and have no knowledge of the nVidia side of the fence.

Hmm.. maybe I will just go ahead and buy the connector - it's on sale for $9.99 on the BFG website..

That's cheaper than I would have thought. If you do try it, please respond back with whether it works or not so others will know.

Re: 3-way sli bridge with 2-way sli?

After a little searching on google, it seems that the tri-sli bridge requires each card to have 2 sli connectors (which at this point only includes the 8800gtx and Ultra cards). I would try the dual sli with the 3-way connector if I had two GTXs, but I don't so I guess not..

Anyways, I just found and bought a regular sli bridge on ebay for $6 including shipping.. that makes things easier :)

          Thanks for the interest, Darthtanion!
