I am building my first computer. A Intel d975xbx2 m.b.. I am thinking of using a Evga gforce7600gt. can I use one of these sli cards or do they need to be used in pairs. For $ reasons I would like to buy one now and one at a later time. Any input would be appreciated. THANKS! dsfast66

That board uses CrossFire and not SLI. I haven't used nVidia for quite some time, but I believe that the mainboard has to support the SLI function to work in that capacity. Some of the others who are more familiar with that product line may be able to verify this, but the specs aboard the Intel website state that it is a CrossFire board.

yup, so far, the drivers are locked so that sli only works on Nforce SLI chipsets. ASrock made some hacked drivers, and some very clever people have got SLI to work in a number of boards, but you would find it almost impossibe to get SLI on your board without so many problems that it would take you an eternity to sort out.
