Yes its true that both of them were dropped and replaced with the GS model and that one you picked will do fine as you will limited by your CPU anyway.

You can still find the GT and Ultra, just expect to pay a premium price. As for specific brands, you need to do some Google searches to figure that out.

I thought there were rumours of a 7800GS coming out as the last AGP card.

I have also read that it uses the NV40 core which has teh other 4 pipes that are unlockable!!!

That is just 1 of about 10 sites that state it and there are lots of people reporting 4 unlockable pipes working for them! AGp should not be abandoned yet and this is a welcome sight I am sure for you guys.

Yeah, they are making the AGP 7800GS. DAMNIT if it's cheaper than the PCI-E one I feel stupid.

it says a 350 mhz core that is bad man the evga 6800gs co has a 400mhz core clock

That will not matter if it uses the 7800 series core. THat core has potentially 24 pixel pipes and is faster at lower clocks.

dude,
u will never get that 6800gs anywere near the true performance of a 6800ultra.i guess u dont mind artifacts? go nuts trying to catch up to a ultra?
