I am trying to understand the difference between discrete and integrated graphics.
Does 'discrete graphics' mean a stand-alone video graphics card and 'integrated' graphics' mean the graphic processing unit is embedded into the motherboard?
All I can tell from reading benchmark testing is that 'integrated graphics' are severely poor compared to stand-alone graphics cards. But does stand-alone = discrete?
Thanks in advance.
