  • NVidia 5700, Good or not, also, compares to?

nVIDIA GeForce FX5700LE Video Card, 256MB DDR, DVI/TV Out, 8X AGP, Model "256-A8-N333"

What does this card compare to when talking about ATI made Video Cards? I have a Radeon 9600 and want to know how much of a difference the FX5700 is compared to my 9600. (My 9600 isn't the SE model, it is just the regular 9600 128MB/128Bit)

Also, is it a decent proforming card?

    Thanks,
    Mike

        the 5900, 5900 ultra and 5950.

the 5900XT may not outperforn the 9600 but it can be overclocked to 5950 speeds.

the 5900xt was much better then any 9600 vid card including 9600pro/xt.

i said may not because i wasnt sure. also because the 5900XT only has half the pipelines of the full 5900 an overclocked 9600 may beat it

              My 9600pro overlocked to 459/342 doesn't come close 2 a 5900xt at stock.

For raw power, yes, the 5900XT does beat out the 9600XT. However, the 9600XT has the proper DX9 implementation and better image quality. 2nd, are you going to be able to tell the difference in framerate between the two cards without benchmarking. No.

Was looking at a 5700 until someone poited out the fact that this card will blow away ANY midrange card on the market. Bought the MSI version and it came clocked at 390Mhz core and 700Mhz memory. Found several reviews and they stated the card has alot of headroom and can be ran at 5950 speeds and above. Have not proved this yet but I will. Going to put the zalman heatpipe cooling system on it as it would appaer to be making lots of heat. At less than half the cost of a 5950 how can any of us loose? Will keep yall informed on how the OC'ing goes.

I have read of 500Mhz plus core and 800Mhz plus memory but this sounds good. Will check it out. Thanks.
