  • long pauses in games with high overclock

I know i've posted about this before but it still is bugging me. When i overclock my card higher than 500 mhz i get long pauses in games like Knights of the Old Republic and shorter ones in 3dmark03 when i get it past 550. Ive been told this is due to different memory timings because my card is a pny 5900 and i have the bios mod to leadtek 5950 ultra. Is this pretty common and is there any way to fix this?

your hardware can't hack it, so lay off the overkill OC before you're shopping for a replacement

When i had my lx version of the 5900, i found overclocking to 500 was fine, i did not see any artifacts. But when i played games i got freeze times, so i guess for nvidia cards, or mainly the leadtek versions of 5900, you get freeze time instead of artifacts. So lay off THE OVERCLOCKING.
