Call of DUty is not going to run very smooth on that setup, no matter what you do. The jerky-ness is not only because of the videocard(mostly is) but ure processor also. So if you got a new mobo and CPU, you could make it run better with that video card.

your problem lies in the video card, not the CPU. My CPU is only slightly more powerfull than yours and the game plays quite smooth at 1024x768 with high visual quatlity. The difference is the video card, at the time I was useing my beloved Ti4200.

While you can tweak your card it is going to make very little difference with moden FPS games. It would be best to save your money and invest in a new card if you want to plays gams like CoD well.

How much are you spending on the GF4?

For a top of the line card at a great price look at:
              .9700 Pro $189

              9800 Pro $210

I've been told that for a really cheap but good vid card to look at the Radeon 9000 with 128-MB RAM and 128-bit bus.

Why use an AGP aperture of 64mb when you can use one up to 256mb?

Actually a non pro r9000 is just as bad as a r9200. It's only the pro 275/550 that any good at all and is like $67 at newegg.
