Ok, I know I have a budget video card, but should standard smoke effects in games completely destroy FPS? I've been using a MX 440-se for a while, then i went to a fx5200. I know they're funky, but all I can get on my current comp are pci cards. Regardless, just because they're crappy by todays standards, should games drop to 2 FPS when smoke gets close? I mean, this happens on older games too. If it is the video card, is there some kind of setting or program with a setting that could reduce this problem??
