A friend of mine flashed the BIOS of his Power Color R9600P card with some custom BIOS. Now his system wont even POST. Is there any possible way to repair this? The only thing we could think of is booting with a PCI card or onboard while leaving the AGP card in, and re-flashing it. I am not even sure if this would work, nevermind boot with 2 cards. Any tips, besides shipping it off to mars to get fixed?:mad:

Just find someone with the exact same 9600p that's willing to copy and send you the original BIOS, if you didn't make a backup already (It's the first thing you should do with ANY flash of a BIOS). I recently went through the same troubles with my 9800 pro, attempting to flash it to a 9800XT...it wouldn't boot until I realized how silly that is and flashed it back...and all is well again. :thumb:
I think that most folks here would agree...you're better off with the standard OC utilities such as RivaTuner, etc. rather than flashing your card to run at a higher clock natively, which is what flashing to a more powerful GPUs BIOS would do. Problems with different RAM timings between cards will cause more problems than you're trying to fix.

Definately an idiot. I would never use some kind of non-offical BIOS. Only reason I flash mine is if theres any bugs the new one fixes.
Apparently some guy made one for his exact card so he figured he'd give it a shot. I have a PCI mach64 so we'll give it a shot.

Has backups of various 9600 bios'
Most would do to my 9600.. is flash it to a XT, so i could get the "overdrive" feature...maybe.. I already have my card stable at 496/300 (stock is 400/300). Once i get my ram sinks.. I'm going to oc the ram. But if you are going to flash your bios.. Make sure that the Ram is the same on your card.. to the bios that your flashing it with. That will cause large problems.
