Help With GeForce FX 5900

I just bought the FX 5900 and installed it. I updated the drivers to the 53.03's. My problems are in game problems when playing BF1942. I turn off the AA and AF. Yet in game playing a mod called desert combat when I play on my own machine and I fly an apache it seems as though it is skipping when I get near a mountain or near another base. It make no sence since it was fine with my other card a GeForce 3 Ti200 w/53.03's. I have tried all different setting with the card,but something is just not clicking. Does anyone have this card and play the game and have any idea what I am talking about?.

try completely removing the drivers and reinstalling them

When I go into my vid card and choose to unistall driver it bring up to uninstall the device and not the drivers. Yet I can roll them back to 43.03's that came with it. Is that what I should do or uninstall the device?. I'm running windows XP by the way.
