  • GeForce FX 5600 Ultra (questions)

What ATI line of card would be comparable speed to a GeForce FX 5600 Ultra? I can get this card very, very, cheap so I don't want an ATI based card in this situation but I'm much more familiar with ATI cards, so thats why I ask this question.
I need to know if this card can handle 1024X768 resolutions trouble free coupled with a P4 2.53 GHZ CPU running todays most system demanding video games.?

How much better is the GeForce FX 5600 Ultra compared to the non Ultra?

Does anyone have some comparabilitly charts links for video cards?

This card is worth the money!
My bro and I have the fx5600 non ultra
    runs better on his system
    p4 2.6 HT
    512 ddr 400mhz
    mobo is x8 agp

    my pc
    1.7 celeron
    4x agp
    768 mb ddr 333mhz
better scores on his and we can play battle field 1942 with
graphics way high. same with call of duty (sick game!)

with AA on you get little lag but its nothing!
I will not say on 3d mark scores cuz 3d mark is gay!
runing all games on 1024 by786 i think its 786?

    hope i help :) http://www.tweakzone.nl/extreviews/569

If u really need it cheap then go for the 5600 ultra, but personally i think it would be wiser to spend just a little bit more getting a 5700 ultra or 9600 pro/xt. 5700 ultra is about on par with 9600 xt and much better than 5600. If u play more openGl games then go for Nvidia, Ati is better with direct 3d and also handles AA/AF better.

Make sure it is an ultra. The fx5200 and fx5600 cards are both generally poor performers. And both are beaten by a ti4200 64mb. The fx5600ultra would be somewhere between a ti4200 and ti4400 in performance (closer to ti4200).

I would have gotten a Ti4200 and clocked it up instead, same performance for a lot cheaper.
