  • Lucky Owners of a Early 9800np

I read articles from beyond3d.com that ATi's 9800np came with 2.8ns chips when they were first shipped, i was wondering if this is true, and if anyone is a proud owner of this card? Like me, i think most 9800np owners are stuck with 3.0ns which can't do jack SH**

    -Thanks for Replies.

You look on the memory chip on your video card.

Look at the code on your memory chips and punch it in at the manufacturers web site, should tell you from there. : peace2: Mista K6

The early cards had "3.3ns" Samsung memory which was basically just 2.86ns with less voltage at a lower speed.

A BIOS flash permitted these cards to be run as a Pro model in every respect including clock speeds.

This can't be done anymore because of the use of Infineon or Etrontech memory instead.
