I do that all the time with old p133 sinks. I use the dremel with a reinforced cutting wheel. Had to do that for a sb live.athlon xp-m@2456mhz(12x204)

For an SB live? That sounds funky. Old Pentium heat sinks are good. But the do make designated RAM sinks for video cards with more fins etc. You'll probably have to scrape off the thermal tape they come with and get some good thermal adhesive, like Arctic alumina.
