  • 9700 Pro/ 9800 np / fx 5900 ?

Hi I was thinking of buying a new graphics card for chirstmas in the about $250 dollar price range. Right now I've got a poor old GF2 MX 64MB :o and games like BF1942 and Halo are almost unplayable on it.

On newegg.com three cards sell for about the same: 9700 Pro ($254), 9800 non pro ($265), fx 5900 non ultra ($236). I was wondering which card would be the better long term purchase (lasting for about 2-3 years). I've been to tomshardware.com, and there are very few comparisons featuring all 3 cards.

Here's the cards I'm thinking of buying.
    eVga FX 5900

    Powercolor Radeon 9700 Pro

    Info-tek Radeon 9800

That cheap FX card is a slower clocked version known as the "LX". The real one (much faster) is currently $330 on newegg. However I have one for sale for $260. It runs past Ultra specs and rocks in gaming. PM me if interested.
